Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data MarginOS collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. MarginOS is operated by Blake Emsick, a sole proprietor based in Omaha, Nebraska.

1. What we collect

• Account information — name, email, restaurant name, and login credentials (handled via Clerk).
• Operational data you upload — invoices, quotes, purchase orders, supplier names, recipe inputs, and waste logs.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and error logs. Used to improve the product.

2. How we use it

• To provide the MarginOS service — matching invoices to quotes, flagging price drift, generating reports.
• To compute anonymized regional benchmarks. Benchmarks only unlock once at least 10 operators are on record in a metro area, and no individual restaurant is ever identifiable in benchmark outputs.
• To communicate product updates and respond to your requests.

3. What we don't do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share identifiable data with distributors, vendors, or any other third party without your explicit written permission.
• We do not use your data to train external AI models.

4. Service providers

MarginOS relies on a short list of vetted providers to operate: Clerk (authentication), Neon (database), Anthropic (OCR of invoice images), Vercel (hosting), and SendGrid (email). Each receives only the minimum data required to perform its function.

5. Your rights

You can export your data, correct errors, or request deletion of your account at any time by emailing blake@margin.work. Requests are honored within 30 days.

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is limited to Blake Emsick (sole founder). We will notify affected users within 72 hours of any confirmed breach.

7. Children

MarginOS is not intended for anyone under 18.

8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to account holders at least 14 days before taking effect.
